Sunstar 1/24 AEC RT Bus - 1946 RT 7-FXT 182 In 1947, manufacture of the first post-war RT’s started and on Saturday May 10th of that year, RT402 was the first of them to enter service, operating out of the Leyton garage on Route 10. This Weymann-bodied vehicle is a 3RT3 and incorporates all the characteristics this body. Externally, the cab windows were revised and the ventilation louvres were reduced in number. Furthermore, the rear off-side body panel in front of the rear wheel arch no longer curved inwards. In terms of Route information, a Route number plate was added to the front near-side pillar and one above the front near-side window was removed, the front destination blind box was re-located below the Via box and the rear roofbox has been omitted. Internally, the fare chart moved to the off-side bulkhead, just above the off-side longitudinal bench seat, and a bell cord was added.
