 In June 1935 Brooklyn & Queens Transit Corporation awarded two PCC construction contracts. Clark Equipment Co. built Brooklyn PCC 1000 and St.Louis Car Co. received order for 99 PCC cars.
For the new streamliners, Brooklyn selected an all-new livery, using the DuPpont Cordova Gray (a very warm gray) unborken except for a Mountain Laurel Scarlet red beltrail and dark blue-green moldings.
