In August 1945 the Detroit Department of Street Railways purchased two air-electric PCC demonstrators and in October 1945 placed an order with St.Louis Car Co. for 78 all-electric PCC cars. The cars were in a distinctive cream with red trim paint scheme and two original cars were repainted to match. They were placed in service on the Woodward line. PRE-ORDER |
