 The Manhattan & Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority or MaBSTOA was formed in 1962 as a subsidary of the New York Transit Authority. MaBSTOA included all of the routes once operated by Fifth Avenue Coach, New York Omnibus and Surface Transit. Former Fifth Avenue TDH-5106 coaches retained their numbers in the MaBSTOA era, while former Surface Transit 3020-3059 series were renumbered in 3100-series and later renumbered again into 3200s. They were assigned to depots in Manhattan and Bronx and were retired in early 1970s.
