South Suburban Safeway Lines served a number of the suburban routes south of Chicago; it was formed in 1933 when South Suburban Motor Coach and subsidiaries consolidated into South Suburban Safeway Lines. In August of 1950 South Suburban bought its first six GM TDH-5103 coaches and acquired ten more in September 1952; they lasted in the company's roster until 1972.
