 Pacific Electric was a very good Customer of White buses, PE bought 284 White 788a and 798s at all between 1940 and 1948, and they were used for most of the system's base service in the late 1940s. Post-war deliveries of 798 model includes 15 coaches of 2380-2394 series in 1945, 70 coaches of 2220-2289 series in 1946-1947 and 25 coaches of 3000-3024 series in May-June 1948, buses delivered from 1946 were fitted with hydraulic transmissions. Also, 28 Whites were transferred to PE fleet in 1949 when Los Angeles Motor Coach Co. was disbanded. All Pacific Electric White 798s (with exception of the war-time coaches) had a Zebra mohair seat upholstry.
