In the early 1950s PTC started to paint their PCC cars in the simplified green and cream livery with a maroon stripe and an all-cream roof. After the route 6 Willow Grove abandonment in 1958, the first Philadelphia PCCs were allocated to rush hour-only service.
They were withdrawn from service in 1960 and scrapped.
